here are some of my tips on how to make the most money when selling your clothes at trading outlets such as buffalo exchange and crossroads. i go there pretty frequently and before i wrote this post i consulted with my equally stylish & sly friend, cherry to see if she had any tips to add. we ended up finishing each others sentences and laughing at how similar we think. so here are our tips:
1. dress to impress. as soon as you walk into the door the buyers are judging what items you hold in your bag. you want to come off as someone with an amazing wardrobe with covetable hand-me- downs.
2. be sure to bring your items in the chicest bag possible. save shopping bags from high end stores for situations like this. no one else knows that the barney’s bag your toting is filled with h&m impulse buys. presentation is key, people. there’s nothing more unappealing than showing up with trash bags.
3. greet the buyer going through your clothes with a smile and enthusiasm. strike up a conversation. most of them are super friendly so this shouldn’t be a challenge at all. build a rapport with her, she’ll most likely end up buying more.
4. merchandise your clothes. make sure they are clean and stain free, fold them nicely, button and zip closures.
5. my last final tip is quite hilarious (since i thought i was the only brilliant one to think of it, but cherry is just as clever) the buyers are clearly looking for name brands and fashionable labels in conjunction with style and design. they hesitate to buy anything from forever 21 no matter how current the item is because they’d have to price it so low considering you paid peanuts for it. a majority of my items to sell are usually from f21 or h&m- trendy pieces that i most likely won’t transition into the next season. so here’s what you do- cut the tag off. carefully! try not to leave any holes or signs of previous labels. when the buyer questions you about where it’s from, your safe answer “a boutique store” from such and such place :) always works like a charm.
now, that i’ve shared my money making tips i’ve got to find another buffalo exchange to sell to. i got so caught up in convo with the buyer today that i encouraged her to chk out my blog.

verameat is a jewelry line i discovered at the renegade art fair that took place in LA a couple weeks ago. she does a collection of tiny rings which i am loving. it’s refreshing to see these delicate designs after all the finger armor type rings that are trending. i finally found the perfect pinky ring
