verameat is a jewelry line i discovered at the renegade art fair that took place in LA a couple weeks ago. she does a collection of tiny rings which i am loving. it’s refreshing to see these delicate designs after all the finger armor type rings that are trending. i finally found the perfect pinky ring

i want this guy’s job. he is keith johnson, the buyer/talent behind anthropologies home and gift division. man shops globe is a show on the sundance channel which documents how incredible keith’s job is. he travels all over the world searching for art and artist to commission unique designs for anthropologie.

watching foreign and indie movies from netflix is a form of escape for me. i like to get lost in movies set abroad because unfortunately i can’t travel as often as i’d like to, so this is a quick fix. my last “trip” was to vietnam via “the lover”. kudos to the costume designer for jane march’s outfit. she basically wears the same dress through out the entire movie. i must find that hat now! any suggestions to add to my queue, or “travel plans”?

one of the things i missed the most while living in ny was being in my car and listening to kcrw. streaming it online just didn’t have the same effect. they have lots of great dj’s but morning becomes eclectic with jason bentley is my easy listening. kcrw is my ultimate source for new artist. what are you guys listening to?

this is a photo of my mom in her early 20s. she’s still just as beautiful today. i recently started using sweet almond oil as a moisturizer based on her recommendation. it’s so perfect to use in replacement of a night cream. you wake up with fresh dewy skin. the effects and benefits are so similar to la mer, minus the $$$. look it up on google for more info and i’m sure you’ll be using it too. thx mom!

several people have encouraged me to start a blog but i was always hesitant to. a conversation i had with my best friend this week is what inspired me to actually start one. melissa and i have known each other for 15 yrs. eek, i feel old thinking about that. one of my favorite memories is the summer we explored europe. in between site seeing, shopping, and eating, we swapped beauty products. i think she introduced me to nars orgasm blush, which is still a staple in my make up bag. its been awhile since she and i have traveled together, let alone have a real moment to just talk about random stuff. she has an insanely busy schedule being supermom to 2 beautiful boys. so i’m dedicating my blog to you, mel. i hope you enjoy reading about my various discoveries, even if u are just quickly scrolling thru this on you blackberry. BFF :)

that’s what I name all my apple gadgets…you know how it makes you give your ipod/iphone a name when you sync to iTunes. anyway, i upgraded my phone to the iPhone4 and despite all the complaints and bad reviews its receiving, i LOVE mine. it’s super fast and the multi-tasking feature is phenomenal. the facetime app that allows you to video chat is so awesome. i feel like judy jetson. i am experiencing some dropped calls but fingers crossed that the bumper thingy will remedy that.
